Intro - Day 1 - Oct. 11 '09

I read this interesting article which mentions a method to juice out more from your day. How do you do that?? Pretty simple; just sleep for three hours! And here's what's interesting - you don't just take a three hour "sleep", you get it by taking 6 half-an-hour naps spaced out throughout the day. It seemed like a pretty cool thing to do( I still don't know what I'm going to do with the extra time), but anyway I decided to give it a shot.
From what I read, a person will feel extremely fatigued for a duration of upto 10 days (as your body is still adapting to the new sleep cycle), after which your brain learns to go into REM sleep the moment you hit the bed resulting in better dreams, more energy throughout the day and a five hour extension to your day. I just hope I don't win a darwin award in the process.

The purpose of this blog is to mostly keep myself motivated with what I see as a pretty rough road ahead(atleast for the next few days), and also as a starting point for anyone who might be interested in trying out this habit.

Day 1 - Started the cycle at 2.30 PM Oct 11. It felt pretty good taking naps throughout the day( at 6.30 PM, 10.30 PM and so on), and resulted in a good workout session in the gym. I spent more time on my project work than normal(and hope to do so) - just to keep myself focussed during this period. It was hard waking up at 7 am in the morning though. The weather was cold, and I felt a bit sleepy. But overall, I haven't felt sleep deprivation kick-in yet. Couple of days more should do it I guess. Let me keep awake and see.
